Story Summary
In Frieda B. Herself, we meet Frieda - a lovable girl with reckless
hair and bare feet, who fully believes she is free to be anyone,
anywhere that she dreams she can be.
And she is.
And so is the reader.
And that, right there, is the whole message:
"Dream your dreams big
and believe they can be."
By following Frieda through one of her typical days of adventuring,
this book drops the reader smack-dab in the world of imagination,
of what's possible. Of color and fun and uniqueness and hope.
And, through Frieda, the story and pictures invite the reader
to join in.
There's little better (and little better for a child) than setting
aside time to let his or her imagination run free.
So turn off the tv, power down (this?) laptop, unplug the game
system, grab Frieda B. Herself and snuggle up with the children
you love.
And maybe, just maybe, Frieda's story will spark hope in their
own.

text
from portions of
Frieda B. Herself...
"Way
up in the village of Fiddle-Dee- Dee
on the corner of Beechwood and Hickory Streets
in a purple brick house,
number three-thirty-three,
lives the world's biggest dreamer...
...her name's Frieda B."
"Like you and like me, Frieda B.'s free to be
anyone, anywhere that she dreams she can be.
So she dreams her dreams big,
some as big as the ocean,
and fills them with color
and music and motion."
"Frieda travels to lands you won't find on a map
like Planet Mandoo
where they hoot and they clap
and they giggle and wiggle
and laugh 'til they're red
if you tell a good joke
and you stand on your head."
"Frieda B.'s a big dreamer,
that's certainly true,
but the world's biggest dreamer is also in you.
All the color and music inside, set it free.
Just dream your dreams big
and believe they can be."
